WRESTLING QUEENS

A discipline between combat sport and theatre, lucha libre has been developing a women's league for a few years now and has met with real success. In the ring, the female wrestlers in rhinestone give us a brutal show sublimated by the synchronized perfection of the fights. In the stands, we experience this ultimate battle, between good and evil, with our nerves on edge. Mexican wrestling purifies human passions and transports us into a parallel reality, euphoric and tragic.

Outside the ring, the discipline allows teenage girls with a violent past to dream of a better future. They have experienced poverty, motherhood at a very young age, sometimes sexual violence, and want to learn to defend themselves and move forward. Becoming a luchadora is hard work: the intensity of training, the precariousness and the risk of injury are high. Not to mention the social pressure exerted by social networks on their physical development. The challenge is all the greater when you are a mother.
