I passed many beautiful places on my 4400km bicycle trip from Berlin to Marseille. I would have loved to photograph someone in these surroundings, but i was alone.
Photographing myself in cycling clothing felt like documenting the trip. So i decided to not wear clothes at all. It felt wierd to be naked. but overcoming this feeling is kind of a freeing process. I was alone in nature and without any awareness of society structures, it would be the most normal thing in the world.
When I selected the images at the end of the trip, I feared if people would see somebody pose instead of move in front of the camera. i feared the series could just look like a strange nudist showing pictures of himself. The anxiety of the question “why have i done this?”
But exactly that fear of being judged could be the point of this series. I think so much about how the others see me that i barely allow myself to see who i am.
That`s why i decided to not give a fuck!
This could be me, and I don`t care.
