Still lifes XXL

I started my reflection on my "Still Lifes XXL" in 2020. Having always been attracted by still life paintings, I wanted to renew the genre by updating, the form, the themes, but keeping the symbolic strength of these paintings.
I started my series by photographing small everyday objects on a kitchen table, then other objects behind windows, and finally looking for larger objects before finding exactly what I wanted: assemblies of materials or objects in size XXL. I’m interested in everyday life artifacts like chairs, basins, motors, computers... Objects that surround us and carry a strong symbolic power. It was then, difficult and long to find the places to photograph them. It found these places in 2023: abandoned and decrepit places.
My photographs "Still Life XXL" remain rare, few. It takes a lot of time and energy to realize one of them. They continue to evoke the passing of time, the consciousness of our finitude and the vanities of our society.
