When I was in New York in 2022, I noticed very quickly that it was exhausting for me to be in this city: the constant noise, bright lights even at night, so many interesting people to meet and so many things to do. I was overwhelmed after only a few hours. So I decided that I needed to focus more on the things that were important.
This reflected even on my photographs I took while I was there. Instead of taking the usual sightseeing pictures with everything on it, I directed my focus on only small details. The use of my favorite lens - the lensbaby - war perfect for this. So I was able to put together a series of New York photographs that are somehow familiar but at the same time unusual.
