Walking and Standing

I was walking in the street of the city of Napoli, it was a very hot summer.
There was movement and noise everywhere on this busy street. People running late, reunions, fruit and vegetable sellers behind their little stands, children running, lost tourists, car horns. Then, finally, an empty street corner. There was this little girl with her father. She didn't move, her gaze directly into mine, while her father explained something to her, gauging me from the corner of his eye. Everything was now empty and silent, under the gaze and analysis of the child.
