My mother is about to light her Malboro cigarette while on a breathing machine. In the background is John telling my mother and me about how good the aim is on the new loaded single barrel shotgun he had just purchased.

This is the last photo I took of them together in 2018 while I was home visiting them. A few months after taking this photo was taken, John passed away. Then my mother passed away after John two years later, in 2020.

This is a brief glimpse into my wild and beautiful everyday upbringing growing up on the Eastern Shore of Maryland with these two.
