Enlightenment

This is a photograph I took for a local assignment with the goal of creating a portrait image suited for the square format.
Since the 1:1 aspect ratio practically screams for symmetry, that's what I based my composition on.
I used a projector to visually focus and therefore draw attention to the eyes. Accentuating the symmetry are the two contour lights, having the added benefit of clear background separation.
The red shirt gives a very nice color contrast to the black background and keeps your attention inside the image.
