This is a Bulgarian family trying to live the way its ancestors lived a hundred years ago. On the top of a mountain, without the riches of modern life. The greatest treasure they possess are the animals. They are their joy, their source of food, their life. As winters get colder, the years pass by. The chill of January brings the joy of new life. But will this family survive yet another winter? And if not, what will happen to the herd? The cemetery is located on the opposite hill. What will be left of this generation? A generation which relies mostly on labour. Working their way through life, regardless of vanity, envy and gossip. An honest way of life in spite of all its misfortunes and hardship.
