Surfing the Eisbach

In the English Garden in Munich/ Bavaria there's the Eisbach (Icestream) with a huge wave. This wave is known worldwide for its steadyness and difficulty. Surfers - mostly men and only few women - are surfing here all day long. Also at night with some lights.
I tried to keep the mood of this stunning sport - one ride sometimes lasts only few seconds - with longtime exposure.

Born 1958 in Munich/Germany I startet photographing at the age of 18. After finishing my studies in protestant theology I was educated journalist. There I began selling pictures to different agencies. Now I'm retired and have more time for taking pictures.
