What does the pain caused by the deformity of the spine mean? How does such a condition change your life?

Simona is a dancer who lives with a severe deformity of the spine, which in some respects offers her a land of advantages that she can explore from a motor point of view.

This series of photographs wants to capture the sculpted body, which refers to the asymmetrical size of the body, the asymmetries that render the individual beauty of each of us. In each image we want to capture states of short immobilisation, body fragmentation, gesture "silence", ecstasy, communication and communion. The sculpted body captures and retains the movement in a point wanting to speak, to express its opinion, to breathe, to relax or to dance; following to release it and place it in another sculptural attitude.

My aim is to create with all my being.
As we pass by life most of us forget to open our eyes and see. Since I put my hand on a camera, I started to see the world in a different way, a way that I couldn’t describe in words. Photography “speaks” through light and shadows about emotions, moments, inner feelings, life style, cultures and customs. It speaks about life, and this is what I love and want to express through my images.

I always aim to create images in which each viewer can find himself in a certain stage of life whether we talk about fine art, family portraits or documentary photography.

Each image represents a part of me and hopefully of you. Even though we see it in a different way, it is a reflection of a part of what we are.

Photography is my mirror and I love it.
