Huemul
Huemul
Through the enormous mountains and forests of Patagonia, I will go in search of the southernmost deer in the world, the Huemul. Noble and elusive animal, barely visible, almost extinct. Its population has been reduced by 99% and it is estimated that there are no more than 1500 huemules left in the wild.
The Cerro Castillo National Park (Chile) and its surrounding areas in the Aysén region give hope for the survival of the Huemul
After making brief expeditions in 2021, I embark on a journey of almost two years, in silence and alone, at my own pace, little by little, in the long term and with the aim of getting involved in this unique and wild habitat.
The result will be the publication of a book, a micro-documentary, and various exhibitions that serve to honor the natural beauty of this territory, make conservation issues visible, and, at the same time, educate.
