Death of peatland
Death of peatland
All over the world the peatlands that have formed over thousands of years are mined to gain peat. The pictures show the consequences of this mining in a peatland in north-west Germany.
All photographs were taken analog, prints are handmade on silver-gelatine baryt paper.
Author
I've been taking analog photos since I was 16 - mostly black and white and with my own lab right from the start.
The focus of my work is the representation of the abstract - often from nature - the focus on forms and structures that the eye and thoughts can glide along.
It's often the small details that have a big impact.
In addition, there are aesthetically attractive landscapes and cityscapes.
