Altered Dolomia

Altered Dolomia is a project documenting the various ways humans have left a footprint on the territory of the Italian Dolomites. The focus is on all those structures and facilities that are very crowded during the touristic season, but remain empty and unused the rest of the year.
The work aims to portray what is usually avoided being shown when promoting the territory for touristic sake, as what is being sold is an idealized and disrupted image of the dolomitic landscape.
The project tries to give an overall view of the human impact going beyond its physical presence on the territory, as people passing are temporary, but the buildings remain.
For this reason, it was important to have no people in the images, aiming to a very weird feeling due to the odd view of an empty space that is usually seen only very crowded.
