The stonebreaker family

Brazzaville (Congo) – August 2022. On the banks of the Congo River, Jean Paule with his wife and five children break stones to earn a living. The father breaks the stones by hand with the help of a hammer and the rest of the family takes care of chopping the smaller stones.
"I break the stones with my hands to send my daughter to school and not to have to steal!" – Jean Paule.
A choice against the trend is to sacrifice the men of the family to send the only daughter to school, which gives her dignity.
The suffering mixed with the dignity encountered on the banks of the river. That we may learn to listen to the silent cry of the world of the poor!
