The Alley

On a trip in southern Italy, I fell in love with this old alley that exuded some kind of harmony amidst the decay.

My first camera was some old 6x6 that mom let me use when I was around 7. I still remember the excitement when I got the first glance of the film when it came out of the fixation tank in the dark room. After a while I got engaged as a photo assistant and did that for a couple of years but at last I decided to leave. I started studying at the university in subjects as literature, philosophy, and whatever else that interested me. So the camera slowly went out of my life as the rest of the world went in to it. Now, many years later, the circle is closed. The camera is once more a regular companion in my life and I can still feel the excitement before I get the first glimpse of the last picture taken.
