Tulip Field

The Netherlands is an important supplier of tulips and tulip bulbs. Over eighty percent of all tulips sold worldwide come from the Netherlands. The island Goeree-Overflakkee supplies seven percent of all Dutch tulip bulbs. The soil on the island is very suitable for growing the colourful flowers. Tulip bulbs are usually planted in October and November. The flowering period runs from March to April.
