Babushka

This is a portrait of my nanny who raised me and my brother whilst our parents were away at work, more informally referred to as 'babushka'. During the Soviet Union she worked in the Kyiv Radio Factory managing a team of 13 men, designing and building heavy rocket machinery in addition to developing rocket precision software. Her team participated in the construction of Gagarin's rocket. That is however not her biggest achievement, Valentina Vasilievna has single-handedly raised 3 generations and remains a strong matriarch figure to this day.
