Symphony in Monochrome

I don't often photograph in black and white - as I am normally drawn to colour when I am photographing - so this project represented a bit of a challenge for me. I tried to see the world differently and could really appreciate how light and shades can make a scene come to life even in a monochromatic scene. The absence of colour helped to transpose the images to another realm, one calmer than the 'real' one and one where time had another, more evanescent, value.
