Cell - Mitosis
Cell - Mitosis
The series "Cells" is a reconnection with biology from an artistic point of view.
Cells are the whole, yet they go unnoticed. The best example of cooperation and
coordination between different entities can be found in our own bodies.
In this series I play with the elasticity of fluids to recreate situations that remind us of
cellular structures, with rounded shapes, overlapping textures, and lots of color.
Mitosis is a process that occurs in the nucleus of eukaryotic cells and immediately precedes cell division. It consists of the equal sharing of the characteristic hereditary material (DNA). This type of division occurs in somatic cells and normally concludes with the formation of two nuclei (karyokinesis), followed by another process independent of mitosis that consists of the separation of the cytoplasm (cytokinesis), to form two daughter cells.
